A not-so-good start because I got up late

This Sunday starts as a normal, relax, boring Sunday. Because I was kinda of stay up last night, sleep at one something am, this morning I first woke up at 9 then fell asleep again so only got up at ten thirty. I felt bad.

The morning went away fast, even before I wanted to turn on loud music as I normally do on a Sunday morning. Ji Cheng’s girl, who works in Changi air port terminal 3 and whose shift is 4pm to 12am today cooked. Nice lunch.

Long and boring afternoon, as usual

The afternoon was long and boring. I wanted to go to Carrfour but I am now bankrupted. I wanted to go swimming at Toa Payoh but the pool is crowded on weekends. I wanted to play soccer at the Potong Pasir court but I was shy to play alone during the day.

Because of being bored with surfing net, I watched a movie copied from my friend, named . Why shall I take this marriage education when I don’t even have a potential girlfriend? I laughed at myself.

A nap in the afternoon came late and it was short, not like usual.

Reading and focus!

I got up at 5pm to start continuing reading a book. Today’s chapter talked about focus on different things change one’s thinking. Totally agree with that. But my mind kept popping out other ideas while I was reading! “focusing on soccer in high school classes”, “normally easy to lose focus”, “I listen to music to help focusing”, “learning to laugh from my friends”, “normal boring Sunday”, “no winner in my war- rational guy versus emotional guy”. There were my weird thoughts. First time I noted them down. Almost all bad records of mine huh? Haha

Interesting Ping Pong Soccer

After dinner I and Ji Cheng went to the hard court to play soccer. We started with passing the ball to each other while watching some Malay young boys playing a one-on-one shooting game that we called it Ping Pong Soccer.

The soccer court is small, just bit larger than a badminton court. It is surrounded by a wall of more than one meter high. Two gates at each end, are about 1.5 meters high and 2 to 3 meters wide. The whole court is then surrounded by a steel mash wall of 5 meters high.

The Ping Pong Soccer game can be played one-on-one or two-one-two. The rule is simple, the player(s) can only stay in one half of the court. Then they can shoot anywhere, in anyway. I only realized it is an interesting game when we joined the young boys. There are techniques, like trying to aim side of the gate so that if the ball doesn’t go in it still can bounce back so that you can shoot again. It is a great exercise of shooting, goal keeping, blocking shots, etc.

Ji Cheng and I later team up and play normal soccer games with the young boys and won them for several rounds. Later I felt I played for very long time and that reminded me of high school happy hours. No worries, just play, play. That’s good feeling.

Do something different, do something interesting

I called home later. And I extended the call to 18 minutes though father asked me to hang up, because, I talked something different, like discussing with him about getting a driver’s license.

Later I sent sms to a friend because it is her friend’s birthday today. I “pretend” to be interested in the way they celebrate. Because, curiosity is interesting!

The network marketing guy

At ten pm, a network marketing guy came near my place, again, to ask me to attend a seminar or training session. This time he brought his “big boss” and another young guy. The boss is more knowledgeable. We had more discussion than I had with the guy only. But still, they ended the conversation by saying, “come to the seminar this week, you will learn a lot.” Actually I am now only interested in how these guys always keep enthusiastic and motived.

About the seminar, I probably will answer like this: I once turned down a insurance agent though I am interested in buying from him. He now doesn’t contact me. Will I still buy from him?

Now, it’s late and it’s time to go to sleep.

Aiya, it’s Wednesday night again!

Aiya, I’ve been working for four months already!

After starting working, especially in these two months, I feel the speed that time elapse is several times faster than before! I often mistake Wednesday and Thursday, often shocked when I realize today is Wednesday or Thursday, often “cry” on Friday, why it is weekend again?!

Time is a strange thing. We sometimes feel it’s too fast and sometimes feel it’s too slow.

During office hours, I just feel time goes very slow. I ask, how come it’s another day?

Einstein once explained Relativity Theory using a joke of a man sitting near a oven or a lovely girl.

So what can we do?

Try to enjoy work when work and enjoy life when being with the girl. Haha.

Being Sick

I catch a cold these two days. So that I have to wear three layers of tops in the office, t-shirt, shirt, and jacket. It feels like I am back in China!

I am alone this evening, after work. I played game in the office, then read something. When I was leaving the office, I suddenly feel energetic and pulse. How I wish I am recovered!

About Plan

I have received four months’ salary, but still have no saving. Need to re-do my financial plan.

I have been learning Vietnamese for two months, and seem to give up soon. Need to revise my study plan!

Life o, is still long long way to go. What do I want to do, what I shall not do. Need a plan also!

The feeling of happy is mostly the same, but unhappy can come in many different ways.

Yesterday was a very unhappy day for me. Here, I write down the reasons that lead me to unhappiness, and hope these won’t repeat.

Starting from the day before yesterday, the problem came from sleeping. Last last last night, I stayed up until two, without any reason. Even though I slept from 11pm to 8:30am last last night, I still feel I didn’t have enough rest.

In the office, everyone was still waiting for projects. I took a look at “my new project”, but I couldn’t understand what all those codes and files were doing. I read the specification documents. There were just too many. Soon, I feel tired and sleepyyyyyyyyy.

After lunchtime, I made a mistake, again by looking through photos inside my friend’s camera. She forgot to delete all those photos before lending the camera to me. I forgot to ask for permissions before seeing all. One or two more things happened then but I couldn’t document here.

After work six of us colleagues went to play badminton. It was supposed to be ten people going, but six was fine. I was tired after it. I am not a regular player anyway.

In the night, I just want to rest. I wanted to have a beer, but my stomach was still full. Then I planned to sleep at eleven.

Ji Cheng came to me just before 11pm and asked me about the the webpage we wrote for the company. There was one stupid bug left unresolved. It just was just displayed incorrect in IE and the error was not from my side. However, we decided to write script to patch the problem. Writing the code and debugging it lasted till 12am plus. When I went to bed, it was 1am.

I started to replay the day in my head. I asked questions like, how could I foresee the future? What could I do if I foresee something not expected in the following year? Also, what if you were not proud of your partner?

I knew I could not fall asleep. Even I didn’t think about those questions, I would think about other things. I just could not sleep when my mind was still excited. DAMM IT. No programming before sleeping!

So, I got up. I brought my laptop to the living room and connected it to the router via LAN cable. That was because my flat mates were downloading from the Internet, I couldn’t access Internet through web browser. I removed the antenna of the router so that no wireless, haha.

I read 6park forum. Not too stupid.

However, staying up was definitely not good for me. I felt hungry!

I felt even hungrier after getting up this morning. Before getting up, I just wished I need not get up today.

近日

这个星期”不忙“，因为”家里“修水管，还耽误了2节课。因为我们住的这栋楼已经有三四十年的历史，我家的墙壁里的水管不知怎的就漏水了，漏到了楼下，害得6楼的越南兄弟每天看天花板下雨，后来水又流到了5楼，沿着楼梯那边的墙。于是管理部门的人出面了，敦促我们要赶紧修水管。我们的房东不在本地的，于是agent又一次次在电话里折磨我的耳膜：”我们要赶快修啊，不然人家要停水啊，不然你们不要租房子你们要搬走啊。“

周四下午相继来了两个水管工，敲敲打打的研究水管的分布，然后决定要切断半个单元的水，弃用墙里的水管而在墙外面架新的水管。第1个人报价650新币。第2个人说5点来，最后直到快7点才来到。他不认路，我跟他说是pasir panjang road, NUS附近，过了虎豹别墅，他竟然一度打电话问我”是不是NTU旁边啊？”天，从NTU开车到NUS可要废不少油哩！后来他说是我没告诉他是新的pasir panjang路还是旧的。。。不晓得他的报价是多少，反正他联系了agent后，agent决定让第一个人来修。

周五一大早第一个水管工就和他的一个同事驾了一辆van一辆lorry来。他们来了以后就开始在墙上打洞。中午的时候他们收工，我看了以后才发现他们还是很迅速的，已经整整齐齐地铺好几排管子，通去厨房和厕所。不愧是专业人士！

中间agent也来了一趟，管我要走了这个月的房租，28张50块的钞票！

修水管就这么弄好了。星期五下午没课，我懒懒地呆在家里，一觉就睡到了晚饭时分。

星期六上午有4218 embedded hardware system design的 extra tutorial。我去晚了些。大部分人都去上课了，老师应该挺感动的。

吃完午饭，我和wangwei yang litao几个人坐在canteen里聊天，话题自然有过年的打算等等，说到了“年画”，wang wei（河北人）竟然说他们家从来不贴尉迟恭秦叔保那样的门神！

午饭后我在图书馆看了会书，到3点多就回家了，因为：我们下午踢球！

4点多我们赶到球场的时候，我竟然发现我们这个只有13个人的“小球队”竟然有10个人都跑来踢球了，真让人感动！

不过天气，场地都不随人愿，本来还是阴天，一度要下雨的样子，我们一开始踢，大太阳就出来了！那个晒啊～ 场地挤就不说了。关键是那草地，那一下雨就能媲美我家稻田的草地，那阴天全是泥的草地，天一晴，全变水泥了！硬不说，而且坑坑洼洼的，我们的硬底钉鞋哦，可把脚折磨坏了。

下面，应该有千余字的球队“训练总结”，毕竟我，hu nan, ji cheng吃晚饭的时候讨论了一个小时呢。不过，先不写了。

哦，还有，踢完球luchao突然告诉我说这个周末的意甲联赛取消了，因为西西里德比的时候球迷骚乱，死了一个警察。等了好久的inter vs roma的
